The planning of security measures during the meeting between the American and Russian president is entering its final phase. Police will not only ensure the security of the two presidents but will also be prepared to intervene in any violation of the peace. During security preparations, the Slovenian police have cooperated with police from Russia, the United States of America and several other countries.

The summit will affect the traffic regime on Slovenian roads. While the American and Russian delegation are in transit, the routes on which they will travel will be closed to all transport. In addition, parking will be prohibited on and next to these roads. During the week, the public will be informed beforehand about places where parking will be prohibited. Warning tickets will be placed on cars and any vehicles that are still not moved, will be removed. Certain areas will also be closed to air traffic, primarily hot-air balloons, parachutes and hang-gliders.

During this time, delays at border crossings are expected, as for security reasons, law enforcement officers will be required to perform their duties with utmost care. For the same reason, the traffic control around the country will also be enhanced.
